BARNEY RAVENSCROFT AWARD
Life Membership is the highest honour that can be bestowed on a member of the NSWCRURA. Life membership is awarded to members who have selflessly served the Association over numerous years in a range of capacities from on-field refereeing, supporting referees through coaching and mentoring, and administrative roles.

Barney Ravenscroft was a highly regarded member and referee coach with NSW Country Rugby Union Referees for many years up until the mid 1990’s. Barney had a passion for assisting young referees and guiding their progress through the ranks of NSW Country on to higher level appointments through NSW Rugby and Rugby Australia.
On his passing, the executive of NSWRURA honoured his commitment by instigating this award presented to a NSWCRURA member who demonstrated not only the values of the Association, but showed a commitment and dedication to achieving standards that stood them in good stead to be appointed to higher level games.
